Anne Pressly dies after Brutal Attack

Anne Pressly dies after Brutal Attack

KATV in Little Rock's Daybreak anchorwoman Anne Pressly died Saturday of injuries suffered in an attack at her home. Here is KATV's story about her. Even though I never met her, I consider her a colleague of mine in the media. Let's hope we media people do not have to report anymore stories like this one. Although if you read some of the media-hating comments left over on the Springfield News Leader website, you will begin to wonder how long it will be until some of the local riff-raff decide to take the life of some of our local media personalities.

Joe Namath

Joe Namath

Joe Namath
Joseph William Namath (born May 31, 1943, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania), also known as Broadway Joe or Joe Willie is a former American football quarterback. He played for the University of Alabama under legendary coach Paul "Bear" Bryant and his assistant, Howard Schnellenberger, from 1962?1964, and in the American Football League and National Football League during the 1960s and 1970s. Namath played for the New York Jets for most of his professional career, but finished his career with the Los Angeles Rams. He was later elected to the Hall of Fame.
Namath retired after playing in 77 wins, 108 losses and 3 ties. In his career he threw 173 touchdowns and 220 interceptions. During his thirteen years in the AFL and NFL he played for three division champions (the 1968 and 1969 AFL East Champion Jets and the 1977 NFC West Champion Rams), earned one league championship (1968 AFL Championship), and one world championship (Super Bowl III).
In 1999, he was ranked number 96 on The Sporting News' list of the 100 Greatest Football Players. He was the only player on the list to have spent a majority of his career with the Jets.
He is known for brashly telling the media that he guaranteed that his team would upset Don Shula's NFL Baltimore Colts in the third NFL-AFL Championship Game in 1969, and then delivering on his promise.

Joe Namath isn't into the bling. He rarely wears a wristwatch or jewelry and he dons his Super Bowl ring only for special occasions. But sometimes, in a nostalgic mood, he'll take out his championship ring and just stare.
"I'll take it out of the box every now and then, look at it and feel it," Namath said Tuesday in a phone interview. "I can't describe the feeling. There's just a feeling that runs through you." more>>

Happy Birthday, Google!

Google turns 10 years old! You don't look a day over nine, I swear.
Google skarang dah berusia 10 tahun..!! Happy Birthday Google..!!! Maju dan terus maju sejak dari 1998 lagi..!! Google Rawks..!!!
Some quotes from Google Blog
The Google doodle tradition started a long time ago (in summer 1999, in fact) when Larry and Sergey put a stick figure on the homepage to signify that they were out of the office at Burning Man. Nothing against stick figures, but our logo designs have become rather more varied since then. Today you’ll see a special design that commemorates our 10th birthday. We’ve incorporated a little bit of history by using the original Google logo from 1998. And since everyone keeps asking what we’d like for our birthday (besides cake and party hats) — the first thing we thought of was a nice new server rack.   Posted by Marissa Mayer, VP Search Products & User Experience, and Dennis Hwang, Webmaster

Tmobile G1 powered by Google Android

The T-Mobile G1 powered by Google Android boasts cut and paste functionality, but will it be the next phone that everyone's talking about?

At a press event in New York City today, T-Mobile, Google and HTC got together to launch the T-Mobile G1, the first phone to run Google's Android OS. We were at the event and had plenty of time to gather hands on impressions of the phone. Overall we were very impressed. It wasn't a perfect device by any means, there is still obvious room for improvement, both in the hardware and the software. But we were taken in by the phone's deep polish and attention to detail, and the all-important responsiveness of the hardware.
