Foot care during monsoon

Did you know that a bare feet can drive a man crazy? We all are aware of the sex appeal associated with long legs that we keep them smooth and silky. But the same time, we neglect our feet. Foot care takes a back seat when compared to our other beauty treatments. Unfortunately little care is given to the most strained and worked out part – the feet.
You need to take proper care of your feet, washing and scrubbing them properly, moisturizing them on a regular basis, and so on. The need to keep your feet beautiful and healthy is obvious. Especially during monsoon as they will be more vulnerable to infections and ailments.
Walking in the rain may be fun, but you can’t destroy the germs by simply washing away the dirt with water. Intense care is needed, as you can’t compromise with the health of your feet.

What you should do:
  • Intense cleansing of feet is very important in monsoon as they would get accumulated with dirt and mud.
  • Avoid wearing boots and shoes as they hold water thereby making it sodden. Use slippers or sandals instead.
  • Every time you are back after going out in rain, wash your feet thoroughly and dry them completely, especially between the toes to prevent fungal infections.
  • When you apply the moisturiser, avoid putting it between your toes.
  • Home pedicure should be done once in a week. If you opt to go to a beautician, ensure that the instruments used are sterilized/ cleansed with disinfectants. But it’s always better to do it at home using your personal instruments.
  • For a pedicure at home, soak your feet in a mixture of warm water, lemon juice and liquid hand wash. Then scrub you feet with a foot scrubber or pumice stone or exfoliating scrub to remove the dead skin. Also you can use hydrogen peroxide to clean the nails. After that dry your feet, trim your nails and push back the cuticle. You have to rinse your feet once again and pat them dry. Afterward you can have a foot massage with a light moisturiser as it helps to stimulate the nerve endings.
  • If you don’t have enough time for all these, you can try another easy step. For this, all you need to have is lemon juice and soft tissues/cotton. First clean your feet in lukewarm water using mild soap and pat it dry. Take a mixture of water and lemon in equal quantity. Dip the tissue or cotton into this mixture and apply it to your feet. This simple procedure will help to remove the odour and also smoothens your feet.
  • Seek advice from a chiropodist
These simple and easy steps will enhance the beauty and health of your feet. Also this will make a man fall head over heels for you.
