roger_federer Roger Federer advanced to his sixth straight Wimbledon finals on Friday after beating Marat Safin in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 at the All England Club.

Federer once again had great command of his service game, pounding out 14 aces while allowing Safin just two break point opportunities and fighting off both. The world’s number one tennis player committed just 14 unforced errors in the 1:40 minute match. Safin, trying to reach his first finals since 2005, committed 25 unforced errors to seal his fate.

Federer is looking to win his sixth straight Wimbledon singles title and his 13th overall Grand Slam singles title. He will play the winner of the Rafael Nadal v. Rainer Schuettler match in the finals. The past two years Federer has beaten Nadal in the finals.
