Slumdog Millionaire' wins the SAG award

Slumdog Millionaire' inched closer to the Oscars after winning the "Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture" at the 2009 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles today.
The film, directed by British director Danny Bolye has also swept four Golden Globe two weeks ago, with India getting its first Globe with A R Rahman's composition 'Jai Ho'.
'Slumdog..' which is based on Indian diplomat Vikas Swarup's novel 'Q and A' has now consolidated its position as an Oscar favourite which will be held on 22 February.
On Saturday night, the movie also won the Producers' Guild of America Award with the film's British producer Christian Coulson being named producer of the year, 'Los Angeles Times' reported.
At SAG, actor Anil Kapoor, who plays the TV game show host, accepted the award along with co-actors Dev Patel and Freida Pinto, said that it was overwhelming enough just to be nominated.
"But to win this is unbelievable..It's unbelievable...," he said.
The other films which were nominated for this category were 'Milk', 'Frost/ Nixon', 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button', 'Doubt' and 'Milk'.
