Hershey Park Stadium

Hershey Park Stadium Seating

Last year the Dave Matthews Band didn't visit Hersheypark Stadium. It was the first year since 1995 fans couldn't travel to the venue to hear the band's unique blend of jazz and rock.

But the band will be back in Hershey June 27 for a 7 p.m. concert. And their fans, who are notorious for traveling long distances to attend multiple concerts, will be following.

"Hershey is a much better venue," said Blake Ditlow, who will be coming from Harleysville, which is near Philadelphia, to see the concert. "You're probably 30 yards away with general admission tickets. You can hear everything."

Ditlow has been going to Dave Matthews Band concerts since 2006, so he's only had the chance to see one of their concerts in Hershey. Some other fans will be headed to this year's Hershey show with a few more performances under their belts.

"This'll be my sixth time seeing them in Hershey," said Josh Preacher, who will be traveling from Lancaster. He's taken much longer trips to see the band.

"Honestly I couldn't even begin the list," he said. "I've seen them as far west as Washington State. I've seen them in Camden, Toronoto, Las Vegas, Wisconsin. Really, I've travelled all over the country to see them."

The band's fans haven't hesitated to travel from out of state to see the previous shows in Hershey.

"I used to have a relative that lived in York, Pennsylvania," said Jen Faller, who used to come from Long Island New York to see the band at Hersheypark Stadium. "I started seeing him in 1998."

The Black Crowes will be the opening act for next week's concert. Tickets are still available and can be obtained through the Giant Center Box office at 534-3911 or 260-2000
