University of Florida Admissions Big Chalenge

University of Florida says UF freshman admission decisions will be available online after 6:00pm Friday, February 13.

Reporter says 27,850 applicants have applied to UF admissions. However, there can be only 6,400 freshmen admitted to University of Florida.

For a few minutes on Wednesday, UF's admissions office accidentally posted partial results, which briefly electrified the talk.collegeconfidential.com chat site, where nervous applicants can stress and commiserate among their peers."

Passing the UF admission will not be any easier this year.

"Facing a legislative budget ax, UF trimmed $70 million in expenses last year and could lose another $75 million this year.

The result, says Orlando, is that UF embarked on a four-year plan to limit enrollment by 4,000 students, from high schools and transfers.

Compound UF's shriveling resources with its lofty academic reputation and the competitive nature of the admissions process is clear. And for good measure, throw in the bling of the Gator Nation's national championship football teams."
